We turned on our air conditioning for the first time since last summer and got a blast of warm air. I called HVAC Masters because they're in Vacaville and have great reviews, and I'm very happy we did. The technician, Fred, checked out our system the same day. He found it was 100% empty of freon, came back the next morning, found the leak the previous owner had tried to fix with duct tape (wth?), and got cool air blasting through our house within a few hours. What I especially appreciated was his honesty and straightforwardness — no surprises, everything explained fully, very professional. We'll be using them for a rental property as well, and highly recommend.
Our AC unit went out on a Friday before the weekend — needless to say, we were in a pickle. HVAC Masters came out Saturday morning; Fred showed up and was thorough, professional, and communicated each step. He explained the motor was the issue but couldn't check parts stores until Monday. When Monday came, he called to let me know the retail part would cost fifty percent of the value of a whole new unit, so he recommended an after-market factory part to save us money instead. He picked up the motor Tuesday, the part arrived Wednesday, and he replaced it Thursday — letting us know the status every step of the way. Fred provides excellent customer service, and is friendly and professional. Thank you for helping us keep cool!
Wow! Fred is AMAZING! Our Carrier unit died and the company the previous homeowners used quoted us $5K in repairs I wasn't confident in. I called HVAC Masters and Fred came out ridiculously fast, spent over an hour diagnosing, and found something that made far more logical sense. He refused payment until it was fixed and kept me informed as he ordered the part. When the system had trouble coming back up, he worked almost two hours rather than quit. It broke again the next day — and despite being on vacation, Fred responded immediately, then came straight back afterward and found the real culprit: a giant rat had chewed the exterior wires. He fixed it and again refused extra payment. Fred is a true gem — professional, timely, communicative and persistent. We will never call anyone but Fred again, and neither should you.

We had a new unit installed at our old house years ago by Fred. They did a phenomenal job then. However, this review is from today. I texted Fred on a Saturday because our unit in our new house (not the one he installed) was having some issues. He came out on a Sunday and fixed it in 30 minutes — and didn't charge us. I'm not saying that will always happen, but Fred is a stand-up guy who stands by his work. Solid guy — he deserves all your HVAC business.

I'll keep it short. Requested service on Thursday. Fred responded within 30 minutes. We scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning. Fred texted me Friday saying he couldn't make it due to an illness. He offered to come in Sunday if he was feeling better. I agreed. He showed up at the agreed-upon time — typically his day off. I needed my AC unit disconnected for a concrete pour, and we needed it ASAP because of when the cement trucks were scheduled. HVAC Masters were the only company of six I contacted that would accept the job and guarantee the disconnect in time. They ended up finding a bad quick-disconnect fuse, replaced it, and reconnected the unit on time — and still came in less expensive than the other company that bid but couldn't guarantee an on-time disconnect. 5 stars.
You know the story — turn the heater on for the first time in months, only to find it making an awful sound. I called mid-day Thursday, Fred scheduled me for the next day, and he was prompt and within the time frame. He explained everything that needed repair and why, in a way I could understand, got the part the next morning, and came out to fix our furnace. It's very refreshing to cross paths with a business that displays excellent customer service paired with a strong moral compass. My AC had been on the fritz for a while, and I'd dealt with multiple HVAC companies who told me the whole system needed replacing — all with absolutely no troubleshooting. Enter HVAC Masters. Fred came by and was willing to actually troubleshoot. It turned out to be the evaporator coil in my attic, where the coolant leak was, and Fred even provided pictures to validate the fix — proof he wasn't blindly recommending random work. Since then my AC has performed like a champ. Fred kept me in the loop the whole way and worked with me to a resolution. I highly recommend HVAC Masters for any HVAC needs.
This place was super helpful. We had an issue at a rental unit during a very hot period and this was the fastest appointment we could find. While we had a completely reasonable mixup on timing, the office and the service person made it right — that made all the difference, and they're going to be my go-to's moving forward. They fixed the problem in 15 minutes, and my tenants were very appreciative with the turnaround too.

I had my HVAC replaced by a different company three years ago and had nothing but trouble every spring when it got hot. I found Fred and HVAC Masters last fall and they fixed everything — I've been nice and cool all summer. Yesterday I noticed water pouring out of the unit in the garage. I called Fred and he showed up within 2 hours, took one look, and told me my drain pipe was clogged. Ten minutes later he'd used a snake to clear it out. As always, he educated me and left me with a smile. What he didn't leave me with was a bill. HVAC Masters are customer service at its very best!
